Malaspina University-College became a university, to be called Vancouver Island University (VIU) on May, 2008.This new visual identity is designed to communicate to its audiences what makes VIU unique. Building the VIU brand though the consistent use of logo and messaging creates a foundation and a brand awareness on which to build successful recruitment and retention objectives and internal pride. The core brand elements: logo, colour palette and typography are specifically integrated throughout the program. Due to the icon’s graphic composition of stylized mountain and water, it is referred to as the ‘blue island’. Remaining true to these core elements and their consistent application across all media and throughout the institution’s departments and faculties is key to the program’s success.

The name CSSFoo that has a lot of means. Foo can be interpreted in a couple ways to give a meaning that differs between people.
